![]() If DLC doesn't really take off and there's not that many stellar DSiWare games, I might just wait until the next handheld.ĭS Phat / DS lite has two CPU's one ARM9 67mhz and an ARM7 33mhz while the DSi has two CPU's one ARM9 133mhz and an ARM7 66mhz so the CPU's have both doubled in power and the memory has gone from 4mb RAM in the DS Phate/lite up to 16mb in the DSi. Whether they get used or not will be the deciding factor for me, I know that. Like you said the DSi does have extra little things developers could use though. There's not going to be any differences between online multiplayer DS and DSi games. As far as online games go, I'm pretty sure it's the exact same though. I haven't had any hands on with the thing yet, but it's supposed to be a little faster. The DSi also uses more of it's hardware for it's internet browsing. It could be a nice little bonus for DSi owners though sometime down the road. DLC isn't implemented all that much on the Wii though so I don't see it really taking off in the DSi shop. Yeah they could do something with the SD card and there's always DLC and stuff. We just haven't seen much by way of innovation with the new features yet. ![]() ![]() If there's a hole in my reasoning or someone has found a way to solve this, I'd also like to know.Potentially a game could make use of the DSi's music/ SD card slot capabilties - think rhythm game where you use your favourite music.Īnd doesn't the DSi use different technology for its online capabilities? Or, additional maps/ addons/ weapons/ powerups through the shop channel.Įither way, there are things that can possibly be done with the DSi that cannot be done with the other DS consoles. ![]() Your reliable option is whether waiting for someone to post their flipnote collections on social media or some drive service, or finding a more restrictions-relaxed server (that hopefully isn't down yet) which has a "Download as PPM" option. Sudomemo actually forbids "Access to our Flipnote services via means other than official Nintendo hardware designed to run DSiWare". It's worth to mention that doing so might conflict with the site's rules since they may want to protect/restrict the hosted content in some way or prevent any security disasters like a DDOS attack potentially caused by downloading tons of flipnote files. However, this looks difficult to put in practice, also considering the lack of documentation on the subject (to my knowledge). ![]() A workaround that may work is using the DSi's API urls with the correct settings instead of the http version of the site (I'm no expert in web development, but it should be something related to the stuff you have to change in the wifi settings in order to "replace" Flipnote Hatena) and list the flipnotes directly from there. Click to expand. There's probably a good reason for which some flipnote share services don't allow direct access to ppm files from their web clients, providing at most the feature to download them in a converted version to a common media format. ![]()
